Booking terms & contraindications
For sound healing sessions
These booking terms and contraindications apply to VIVRA Healing sound healing sessions, including group sound baths, private sessions, floating sound experiences, poolside sessions and collaborative events. Please read them before booking or attending.
1. Nature of sound healing sessions
Sound healing sessions offered by VIVRA Healing are designed to support relaxation, stress reduction and general wellbeing through sound and vibration, using instruments such as crystal singing bowls, chimes, gentle percussion and gongs.
These sessions are a complementary wellbeing practice and are not medical treatment, diagnosis or psychotherapy. Sound healing should not be considered a substitute for professional medical advice or healthcare. If you have concerns about your health or whether a session is suitable for you, please consult an appropriate healthcare professional before attending.
2. Contraindications and health considerations
Sound healing is suitable for many people; however, certain circumstances may require additional care, an adaptation to the session or prior medical advice. Please contact Joanna before booking or attending if any of the following apply:
Pregnancy, at any stage. As a precaution, if you are in the first trimester please discuss participation with your midwife or healthcare professional. If you are beyond the first trimester, please still let Joanna know so that positioning, volume and distance from instruments can be adapted where appropriate.
Epilepsy or a history of seizures.
A pacemaker, cochlear implant or other implanted electronic or medical device.
Significant sound sensitivity, tinnitus that is aggravated by sound, or another condition affected by sound or vibration.
Recent surgery, a serious injury, an acute medical condition or a medical procedure from which you are still recovering.
A health or psychological condition for which prolonged relaxation, sensory input or group participation may currently be unsuitable.
If you are unsure whether sound healing is suitable for you, please seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional. VIVRA Healing may recommend an adaptation, request healthcare clearance or advise against participation where a session cannot reasonably be adapted.
3. Personal responsibility
Participation is voluntary. By attending a session, you confirm that you have considered whether the session is suitable for you, have disclosed any relevant information that may require an adaptation and will follow reasonable safety instructions.
If at any time you feel uncomfortable or experience pain, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, distress or another symptom that concerns you, please tell Joanna, adjust your position, sit up or stop participating. You are free to leave the session at any time.
4. Floating and poolside sound experiences
Floating and poolside events involve additional environmental and water-related considerations. If you attend one of these experiences:
Participation in the water is optional. Where an event allows it, you may choose a floating option or remain on a mattress or mat outside the pool.
If you choose an in-pool or on-water option, you must be comfortable in and around water and tell the facilitator in advance if you have any concern that may affect your ability to participate safely.
Pool areas may be wet and slippery. Please move carefully and follow venue instructions when entering or leaving the pool.
Floating equipment may move, tip or become unstable. Please follow instructions for getting on and off any float or pool mattress and do not stand on floating equipment.
If you are pregnant, have reduced mobility, are recovering from injury or surgery, or have another relevant health consideration, please advise Joanna in advance. A poolside or mattress option may be recommended.
Please do not enter the water if you are impaired by alcohol, recreational drugs or medication that makes you significantly drowsy, dizzy or unsafe around water.
Outdoor sessions may be affected by heat, sun, wind or changing weather. Please hydrate appropriately, use sun protection where relevant and tell the facilitator if you feel unwell.
You may stop participating, leave the pool or move to a poolside area at any time.
5. Essential oils and complimentary samples
VIVRA Healing may occasionally use essential oils as part of a wellbeing experience or provide small complimentary essential oil samples or blends for participants to take home. These samples are always gifted and are not sold as part of the session.
Where a sample is provided, VIVRA Healing will explain what it contains and provide appropriate guidance for its intended use. Samples may contain essential oils and/or a carrier oil. Although the products used are naturally derived, natural ingredients can still cause sensitivity, irritation or allergic reactions and may not be suitable for everyone.
Please do not use a sample if you know or suspect that you are allergic or sensitive to any of its ingredients. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, have a medical condition, or are unsure whether an essential oil is suitable for you, please seek appropriate professional advice before use.
Complimentary samples should only be used as explained or directed. Please discontinue use if irritation or another adverse reaction occurs. Keep essential oils and samples out of reach of children and pets unless specific appropriate guidance has been provided.
6. Comfort and what to bring
Standard sound baths are generally experienced while lying down on a mat. Unless your event information says otherwise, please bring a blanket, pillow or cushion, water bottle and an optional eye mask. Mats may be provided depending on the session.
For floating or outdoor experiences, please follow the event-specific information regarding swimwear, towels, dry clothing, footwear and any equipment supplied by the venue.
7. Arrival and session start time
Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before the advertised start time so that you can settle and receive any relevant safety instructions. Late entry may not be possible once a session has begun, particularly for floating experiences where a safety briefing has already taken place.
8. Booking and payment
Sessions must be booked in advance through the relevant booking system or directly with VIVRA Healing. Where payment is required, your place is confirmed once payment has been received. Spaces may be limited to maintain a calm and comfortable environment.
9. Cancellations and refunds
Unless different terms are stated for a specific event, please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel.
Cancellations made 24 hours or more before a session may be transferred to another session or refunded at VIVRA Healing's discretion.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may not be eligible for a refund.
If VIVRA Healing cancels or reschedules a session, participants will be offered a transfer or refund as appropriate. Event-specific terms shown at the time of booking take precedence where they differ from this general policy.
10. Privacy and personal information
Personal information supplied for bookings, communications, health or safety disclosures and event administration will be used only as reasonably necessary to manage your booking and deliver the session. Information may also be processed by booking, payment or venue services used to administer your booking, subject to their own privacy terms.
Please do not share private medical information in a group chat. Any relevant health information can be sent directly to Joanna.
11. Photography and social media
General photographs or video of the venue, instruments or event setting may be taken for promotional purposes. Participants will not be deliberately photographed or featured recognisably without permission. If participant images are planned, consent will be requested.
12. Personal belongings
Please take reasonable care of your belongings. VIVRA Healing is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property except where responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded. At pool events, please keep phones, jewellery and other valuables away from the water unless they are designed for that use.
13. Liability
VIVRA Healing will take reasonable care in planning and facilitating sessions. Participation nevertheless involves the ordinary risks associated with relaxation activities and, for floating events, poolside and water environments.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where it cannot legally be excluded or limited. These terms do not remove any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
14. Agreement to these terms
By completing a booking through VIVRA Healing's booking system, you confirm that you have read and accepted these booking terms and contraindications.
Where a booking is made outside the online booking system - for example, through a collaborative event or directly with an event organiser - you will be asked to read these terms and confirm your acceptance in writing before attending.
If you are booking on behalf of another adult, please ensure that they receive these terms and personally confirm their acceptance before participating. If a participant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide the booking or consent and the session must be appropriate for the participant's age and the specific event.
